19th March 2008

Dear Parents,

Can you remember what it’s like to move house!! Well I can and you start all enthusiastically and then….what a mess!! We are at that stage at the moment moving Class 2 into their nice bright yellow classroom. Miss Fan must be a classic hoarder as she has a LOAD of….stuff!! Getting her to throw anything away is a nightmare BUT SHE IS BEING A GREAT Eco Warrior. Eventually things will be sorted so we are looking to painting old Class 2 next Thursday and Friday. So far we have 2 volunteers so if more of you can come please do. It really won’t take long and will make such a difference to the room.

County Cross Country

After the North Cotswold Run, Emma Jones was selected to go forward as a representative for the North Cotswolds in the County Cross Country race. This took place last Saturday and she did extremely well coming 21st out of 84 girls. It also looks like the North Cotswold Team came 4th overall. Well done Emma for both representing the area and our school.

Gymnastics at Bledington

On Monday 17th Miss Fan took 4 of her class to do a gymnastics session at Bledington School. They had a really great time and were taught how to do cart wheels and forward rolls. Miss Fan was also very excited because she was shown how to do backward rolls and now feels confident in teaching this. Well done to Noah, Rosie, Indira and Millie who represented our school with pride.

Tag Rugby Tournament

Last Friday our Y5 and Y6 children went off to Stow Rugby Club to take part in the annual rugby tournament. They had been out practising in all weathers and were very excited about their matches. We took two teams and I can say that both played well and showed great skill. Team A came 3rd and Team B came 4th. Well done to all of them.

Tennis

We are going to have two sessions of tennis for Reception and Y1 children. They will go up to the tennis courts all together and have an hour long session.

They can bring their own rackets but they will be provided. In the Summer Term Y4, Y5 and Y6 will be having their lessons at the courts. Many thanks to the PTA who fund these most enjoyable sessions.

Easter Egg Hunt

As the Easter Egg Hunt is outside in a grassy area, PLEASE provide a pair of WELLIES or CHANGE OF FOOTWEAR.

I’m sure none of you would allow such a thing, but this morning we had a very unpleasant parcel on the ramp into school. I’m sure this would be from a stray dog but can I ask that if you bring your dog onto School Premises they are ALWAYS kept on a lead and ALWAYS supervised.

Kind regards,

T. Buck
