23rd April 2008

Dear Parents,

It is so nice to all be back in the right places and, except for no stairs to Class 3, all is running smoothly. All Class 1 and 2 are now using the door at the rear for entering and leaving and this has cut down on the congestion around the front door. The builders have been working over the holidays and except for finding the old school had NO FOUNDATIONS….all is well!! We should be seeing steel works going up very soon and then we will all get an idea of shape and size. Plans are already starting to form about a grand hall opening PARTY and AUCTION to help raise money to equip the hall with everything we need. I am, as always, excited!

Football Match

On Thursday 3rd April our team had an away fixture at Northleach. The team were keen and ready for this local derby…ready to build on their success in the Hatherop Tournament. As always they gave their best and played as a team, helping each other to gain success. This they did winning - 9 – 1 !! Well done team and we are proud of you for representing your school with PRIDE.

Chedworth Goes Camping!

A night of camping has been arranged on May 31st at Uffington. There will be open fires, a pretty brook and friendly chatter. For more details call Jo on 720091 or email Joanne_leigh@yahoo.com

Class 4 Residential

All children in Class 4 are going to South Cerney from June 2nd to June 4th. They will be staying in log cabins and experiencing sailing, canoeing, raft building and orienteering. Ms. Fan, Miss Robinson and Mr. Jones will be going along to enjoy…..some sleepless nights. Don’t forget Class 4 Parents you can send the money in at anytime or part of it, but ALL has to be paid by June.

Parking

Can I please ask that if you are parking away from the school area you are not blocking drive ways. (There is always lots of room to park at the Village Hall) This morning a resident at the top of the hill way unable to get her disabled relative picked up because cars were blocking the part where the transport needed to park. It really is good to see we are still all making the effort to walk and the benefits for health are great. KEEP WALKING.

Old Time Music Hall

Yes we have decided to get to grips with another major production!! I’m feeling a little nervous as we haven’t really started as soon as I’d like due to my little visit to hospital and then settling back into school. However, Mrs. Floyd, Mr. Trim and Mr. Claridge all seem positive so we’ll go for it"!! Don’t think you’ll all get away with it either. There will be lots of audience participation and the option to dress up!! More details will come out later but we should all enjoy singing those songs from yesteryear and as I’ve always thought…if God hadn’t wanted us to sing he wouldn’t have given us voices so…. whatever your singing voice we want to hear it.

Kind regards,

T. Buck
