Dear Parents,
On Tuesday Mrs. Fitch and Ms. Fan arranged a meeting to discuss the setting up of a WALKING BUS. A questionnaire was also sent home concerning car sharing. I have to announce that the uptake for both was very minimal so we have come to the conclusion there is no need. We do however hope you will all continue to park at the Village Hall and WALK down to school. This really helps with the congestion and is easing the road outside school, particularly whilst the car park is out of action. It is however VERY IMPORTANT that if you let your children come down on their own that they do so SENSIBLY AND SAFELY. All children are aware of how to do this as we have always followed the same routines when we go to the Village Hall. Basically they keep to the side of the road. If a car comes they STOP and STAND STILL until it has passed. They do not run or straddle across the road. If an older child has to bring their younger sibling down THEY MUST listen and carry out the older child’s wishes!!! We are always covering road safety in school and I will do so again in Worship.
Nature In Art
Class 1 & 2 had a most enjoyable visit to Nature in Art and came back with fantastic flowers made out of recyclable material. Using nature as a stimulus is always exciting and the children are confident in producing their work. Jackie Garner from Nature in Art rang after their visit to say the children were EXTREMELY well behaved, very polite and a wonderful example to our school!! We know they are BRILLIANT but it’s great to hear it from someone outside. Many thanks to the PTA who funded the coach.
Give us Back our Game!
After a very successful first session we are pleased to announce the World Cup returns to Chedworth. It will take place on MONDAY MAY 5TH at the VILLAGE HALL PLAYING FIELD from 5.00p.m. to 6.00p.m. It is absolutely free for all St. Andrew’s boys and girls - just bring along boots, kit, shin pads and a drink. For more information please contact TOM WATT on 01285 720694.
Nature Quiz
On Tuesday our team of Emily H, Emily B, Susi, David and Aisling went along to represent us in the annual Nature Quiz, 2nd round. They were up against Lechland and Ampney Crucis. All did very well and it was a very close tie. Our team scored the highest ever in the 2nd round in the specimen round, identifying things from nature, and only a few points behind were beaten by Ampney Crucis who go through to the next stage. Well done to all of you for the efforts you all put in and you certainly represented your school with PRIDE. Many thanks to Mrs. Hulbert who did all the transporting.

It is really great fun learning all the songs for the Old Time Music Hall. They have such wonderful lyrics and are so easy to pick up. I’m sure the children think Mr. Trim and myself are mad as we sing along and chuckle at what it says….Joshua, Joshua, nicer than lemon squash you are, Oh by gosh you are, Josh u osh u ah!! Don’t forget there will be lots of joining in and so you will need your singing voices and…..it will be great if you dress up as well.
Off to do the Honeysuckle and the Bee……buzz, buzz.
Kind regards,
T. Buck
