REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
Eco-School Newsletter 2nd December 2005
Silver Award
We all enjoyed our Silver Party a few weeks ago and making the hats, out of recycled bits and pieces, was great fun. We all mixed up and helped each other to make our hats and then paraded about...most of the day...with them on. We are all looking forward to a whole day Green Party when we get the flag!!
ECO FACT
Leaving videos, televisions and hi-fi?s on standby wastes £163,000,000 A YEAR so SWITCH THEM OFF
Bins
Each week Kirstie Guest keeps are eye on all the bins in the school and makes sure the right things is going into the right bin. If it isn?t....and sometimes the staff room is the worst...the culprits are NAMED and SHAMED. So far Class 3 are the most improved Class with Class 4 doing VERY WELL, Keep it up everyone.
Radiators
It is very easy to waste lots of energy in a school like ours so it has been decided to switch off some of the radiators and also turn down others. They can soon be turned up if it is very cold.
Competition Winners
The best fly in bird restaurants were:
Class 4 Milly Chapple
Class 3 David Stevens
Class 2 and 1 George Roffe
This months competition
Class 1 and 2
Draw a picture to show how Father Christmas cares for the environment.
Class 3 and 4
Design a poster with at least 5 different ways in which you can make your Christmas greener.
Entries in the Eco-Box by Friday December 9th.
REMEMBER FROM JANUARY WE WILL BE HAVING FRUIT ON MONDAY, TUESDAY, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. BUT WEDNESDAY WILL BE WICKED
Now before the children start moaning - they can have as much fruit as they want and things like bananas are excellent for energy...tennis players eat them all the time. To combine with this please make sure all the children have a good breakfast as this is the MOST important meal of the day. This is important, as it will help to keep us healthy.
When out and about don?t forget to buy recycled cards and wrapping paper...and keep for tags in the future or recycle again.
